looking at rubbings

I've decided i want to collect many different pictures of rubbing's that i find inspiring and would give me some ideas for the final out come.overall this has really helped me a lot i was at the point were i was a bit stuck on what i could use to create the rubbing's and the pictures have given me some great ideas. I enlarged some so  i could see the marks better.

After deciding on continuing with mark making I decided to try and get more inspiration but from artists that do similar work to what I do. I found an artist called Ingrid Calame. Her work uses a lot of marks but incorporates layers. I watched a YouTube video of how she creates her pieces. She does this by using tracing paper to trace marks and she does this reputable until she gets the desired look she then add colours. Here work has inspired me further to try out her technique. She uses bright colours which his what I like working with and layers which is what I also like  to work with.it has inspired me to use layers in my own work.
 

 

illustrator-unit 7 time based filters

I'm impressed with the way this sample creates a 3d illusion.  To create this effect i scanned a sample from my final outcome and use a Photoshop filter called extrude. This sample reminds me of impressionism.

I found this technique fascinating , the wavy effect really stands out. I found this technique easy and quick and came across no problems.

Before i selected ok on the twirl filter  i experimented with the percentage  To see what effect i could create. I feel it came out really well and very effective. I'm impressed with how the twirl makes my piece look very gentle

I feel it came out very well,the filter gives it a very 3d effect,i found it easy to adjust the 3d effect and would use it again.

Overall i enjoyed this unit. I love incorporating computers and my piece together it has given me some new skills and I've learned a lot. it has also given me some great ideas for my final major project. The filters were all very easy to use and adjust.if i was to take this further into my fmp i would experiment with different filters,pick which one i like best and then print it on my fmp fabric. i came across a few problems like understanding certain tasks but i solved them by writing notes and checking with my teacher to see if they were correct.if i was to improve i would of saved the filter samples into patterns and placed them on a fashion flat puff ball skirt. The puff ball relates to my time based project, the fabric i used on the filter was the fabric i made in my time based i took pictures of the fabric being pinned and folder at one point i pined it into a poof ball skirt and loved the effect it gives it would of been more effective if i had used one of the filters on the fabric first then pinned or made it into a puff ball skirt.

Adding brush effects to vest

I loved using the brush stokes it made my vest look more curved and fancy. I found this technique easy to use and i could also change the thickness and thinness of the strokes which made a big difference. Id like to try this technique again as its very effective and i want to know what else i could do with it.

pattern on shoe

I found using this easy . I could make any pattern i wanted and add it to my shoe i could also save it so in the future i could use it again on something else. I found it very effective and would love to try out more detailed designs. id also like to see if i could make my own patter on paper and transfer it onto the program so i can use a more detailed design.

shape sheet

I found using the shape tool much easier as i could just pick the shape and all id have to do is make sure the sizes were right.When using the pen tool i found it harder as i had to try and get the sizes right and the shape as perfect as i could with out the aid of a line tool or shape but i think id need to practice to get this technique just right.When using the dialogue box i found it ok to work with the only thing i had an issue with was getting the sizes right but once i realised that if i did the same size for all of them i could do the technique much easier. I had a problem with the star though it kept coming out looking like the pentagon and i kept trying but it wouldn't work i think i need to work on this one a bit because it would be an advantage in future projects.

drawing with templates

I liked this session its was fun.if i had to rate it on how hard it was id give it a 8 because at the beginning it was a bit tricky drawing round it and learning to use the pen tool.but once i got it i found it easy. I love how it helps you create the exact outline of the boot. I could also alter the shoe as much as i wanted to.  I could make it my own.using this program to create the outline is much easier then using a pen and paper . I  would love to alter different types shoes see what more i could do.
